I need your help again

Within the past 18 hours, the forces of negativity seem to have descended upon me again.

On Sunday, September 14, at 11:30 AM, there will be the unveiling of the tombstone for my father.
Last night,I was talking on the phone to my brother in Toronto about the details of the unveiling, and this didn't exactly put me into a cheerful mood. So I walked over to Tim Horton's to cheer myself up. When I got back, I noticed that there were posters hung up in the apartment building. Starting at 11:00 AM, on Sunday, September 14, they were going to exterminate the apartment building for cockroaches, and would all the tenants please clean off the kitchen counters and remove everything from them. Wonderful! The janitor had just sprayed boric acid powder over everything this past Monday. And now it's happening again during the unveiling. And how will my cat cope with it?

But that was not the worst of it. There was a knock on the door this morning. It was the landlord. He wants me to move out. He seem to feel that my messy housekeeping is creating a refuge for the cockroaches, and that's why they can't get rid of them. He was even offering me money and help in moving for me to be out by October 1 (two weeks from now). After I've been living here since 1992. Fat chance! So I feel like I'm back where I was a few months ago. Deeply mired in all sorts of shit. The only thing I can think of to do now is to start throwing out as much junk as possible, in the hope that it will either get the apartment cleaner, or at least improve the chi (qi) enough so that some doors will open for me.

So what I'm asking for is any help any of you can provide in the form of advice, prayers, spells, etc. Maybe there is some detail that I am missing in this situation. Thank you.

  2. Vitality
This influence stimulates your physical vitality, giving you the chance to work hard and accomplish much. Your health is good during this time, and you are able to approach everything you do with vigor and self- confidence. And this carries over to the psychological level as well, as an ability to assert yourself toward others and stand up for your views in any controversy. New opportunities to be personally effective often open up under this influence. If you are still active in your job, you might get a chance to take on an important responsibility, which will lead later to a promotion or increased salary. This is a good time to demonstrate that you can work on your own and do it well. But you can also work with groups now, because your energies complement the group's energies.

    Disagreements
Valid during several weeks: Normally this influence is quite favorable for all forms of communication, for getting around and getting in touch with people. Your mind moves quite quickly and cannot stand being idle. This influence makes you eager to exchange ideas with others, and you may feel like sitting and chatting with someone all day, if he or she is interesting enough. But the drive of this energy is such that you may waste a good deal of time chattering to yourself and not really accomplishing much of anything. While it is quite easy to express yourself under this influence, do not expect everyone to agree with you necessarily, especially if you talk so much that others feel they will never get a chance to say anything. They may disagree with you just to make you pause and listen to them.

Starting next Thursday Pluto is transiting Capricorn again. Magical transformation of structure order and rulership.

I don't know about your municipality, but as a former landlord, I could not evict someone for suspicion of breeding cockroaches. If you have been paying your rent on time and adhering to your lease, what basis does the landlord have to evict you?

I wouldn't hesitate to consult a Feng Shui practioner for re ordering your home environment.

  3. We don't have cockroaches here..the climate or something, but when we lived in Missouri we did, I had two wee tots at the time so my house was rarely a mess, besides I wasn't working then. I had nothing but time to keep my house clean. BUT we had cockroaches..the landlord had to come once a month to spray, which we didn't have to pay for. You can keep an immaculate house and still have them..so there is no proof in the pudding.

Sorry Jack, hopefully things will start looking up soon..sending all my positive energy that they will!

  4. Deena is the woman for you, Jack. She knows all about that Chi stuff - I, on the other hand? No clue. I am about as non-Fung Shui as they come. Between the snakes, the spiders, birds, fish and the lizard? I have no way to figure out how to set everything up for Chi.

I CAN, however, tell you about cockroaches (I have a really eclectic groups of friends...). Roaches HATE dirt or "filth." Roaches like things clean & tidy, apparently. Although, clutter? Simple clutter? They like that...gives them a place to nest, raise a family and do whatever roaches do as far a living goes.

  5. I'm going to tell you, I'm a damned neat freak. I am a clutter exorcist. I am a feng shui fool.
I've got the video to prove this if I must show evidence.
Karen jokingly suggested to me that maybe I'd like to feng shui my camp site and for just a minute I looked at it and thought, Hmmm.
And yet! Despite that! I have had cockroaches.
    Not once. TWICE!
    (Not here, but in Toronto.)

But, as I say, I am a clutter exorcist. So I would be the first to advocate for cleaning out the junk.
Not because I believe you are the cause of the cockroaches, as I certainly do NOT believe that. But, a clean space creates flow of Chi and I'm telling you Jack I am such an advocate of it as....IT WORKS!
My rule of thumb is simple. If you haven't touched it in a year, pitch it out. You obviously do not need it.
If there is anything stored behind doors, out it goes. Under the bed, get it out.
If you must use those things, then make room for them somewhere else.
Start with that, and then we'll talk more if you can handle anymore.
I warn you, I'm a lunatic with this.

  7. What Karen says about roaches is true.. I lived in "The Cockroach Castles" in Toronto..also known as Crescent Town, for a few years.. I had to put everything into Tupperware containers, I got insecticide poisoning from the spraying despite following ALL the instructions and no matter how clean my place was, it was roach infested. I swear they wore party hats and sent me out for beer.

  8. Jack,
Send the cat to a friends on Saturday night, Life is starting a new cycle, toss out the junk and enjoy the challenge. That sailboat doesn't do reverse, neither should you......

  9. Okay as I have had the summer from hell (lost my job, apartment raised rent $120 a month, job hunting in the current US economy is not fun) and I seem to be sailing along with mentel stability what I can suggest is a change in mental attitude. You've lived there since 1992? Well if the landlord is offering money to move take it my man and find a better place. The universe has sent opportunity knocking on your door. Answer for Goddesses sake! It sounds like it is time to move on, update and refresh your life. I found a little house. It is old it is run down but you know what my son has a yard, that is VERY cool! I like historic houses. This one has so much character It could use some meds to bring it down to just a couple of personalities but I have hard wood floors throughout my house! Woot. As I was preparing to move I got rid of 10 construction size garbage bags of stuff (45 gal). I could be really depressed by my new diggs or I can meet this challenge and create a home filled with love. Find the positive, find the opportunity that the universe is offering and embrace it. Change an either be a miserable experience or a Glorious Adventure! So Hoist your Colors and full canvas!
